PEOPLE WE KNOW IN THE NEWS:

Thirteen teens and adults from the Midwest spent 10 days in Grenada in December and January on a Mission Discovery trip through United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. Members of the group who stopped for a photo with the Des Moines register are, from left, Joanna Peters of Pleasant Hill, Lisa Hickman of West Des Moines, Jessi Myers of Des Moines’ east side and Beverly Nolte of Des Moines' south side.
